Go Balance and the Municipality of Borba together committed to suppling new roof tiles to the Terra Preta community in the Trocano Araretama Project. The company and the municipality signed the agreement together with the community to supply these roof tiles.  The much-needed supply of Brasilit roof tiles for the restoration activities were delivered on the same day.

Collaborative effort between Go Balance and Municipality of Borba

The joint initiative between the Trocano project team, and the municipality of Borba was initiated.  On the day, the Mayor of Borba, Raimundo “Toco” Santana and Vice Mayor Antônio Cidade, visited the Terra Preta community, with members of the Trocano Project team to donate tiles to restructure the community Social Centre’s roof.

REDD+ project initiatives such as this on the 8th April 2025 reaffirm the commitment from Go Balance and the Trocano Araretama REDD Project team to social development and environmental preservation, promoting positive changes in the rural communities.

Delivering Tangible Support to the Terra Preta Community in Borba

The roof tile donation directly responded to a request from the Terra Preta community and was fulfilled on the same day as the agreement was signed, showing the project’s ability to respond quickly and efficiently to local needs. These improvements to the community’s infrastructure help strengthen social cohesion and support ongoing engagement in the project’s broader goals of environmental conservation.

Strengthening REDD+ Co-Benefits through Social Infrastructure

This initiative is one of many tangible actions that reinforce the Go Balance REDD+ project co-benefits delivered through the Trocano Araretama Project. By addressing community-identified priorities such as this, the project continues to demonstrate how nature-based climate solutions can also deliver real-world social benefits.
